Difference In 2005 and 2013

I do see a change in the year 2005 to 2013. Well in 2005 they didn't have stuff to take picture like we do in 2013. Yes I do think the significant change because we have a lot of new stuff in 2013. They didn't have that much stuff in 2005. the world is different because in 2005 they did have a lot of stuff. It is a good change because  if we still had nothing to take a picture or nothing to do.

I am in 7th grade and I go to Festus Middle School. I have two sister and one brother and I like to dance, and I love music. I am in 7th grade and I like my school a lot. I like to hang out with my friends.We like to go to school cause we learn a lot of cool stuff that we didnt even know about.

I am going to tell u some stuff about my family and friends.Well I have not that many people living with me. I have my own room and I am so happy I do not have to share with my annoying little brothers.Well sometimes I have some friends come over and we hang out for a little bit. Then on the weekend we all stay the night at my house and we just sit and watch movies or just go hang out with some of our other friends.


Well I am going to tell u stuff why I like computers.Well first I like computer class because all the awesome thing we have to do. Next, it is fun to type and it teaches me how to type faster.We have all cool stuff to do for computer class.Well what i dont like about technology class is that we have to do vocab, and I am not that good. Everyone knows that girls are the biggest drama starters. It usually never boys. Girls like to say things that aren't true. But what I hate the most is when people who call you "best friend" treat you the worse. I don't like it when people change. Maybe people  just want their old friends back. People say, "Why are you her friend if she treats you so badly?" I say that maybe that person would miss them. Maybe some people are holding on to the person who they thought they were? Maybe some people have the same situation. Why do people tell others lies? Why do some people post stuff on social media to embarrass them, lie, or try to bring them down? A lot of people act like Facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter is like their "secret diary" when it's actually public. The whole world can see it. Why do people do that? Diaries are supposed to be SECRET. Don't talk about others! Talk to them face to face, their back is not a voicemail! They also post stuff calling themselves ugly. Even though in reality, they always call themselves pretty. THEY DO IT FOR ATTENTION! You seriously can't trust anyone anymore! I know this is long, but I just want everybody to know that bullying is not cool. Popularity doesn't matter. You were born to stand out not "fit in." Treat your friends equally. Stop treating them like they're nothing to you. Nobody deserves that.

My Embarressing Fail With My Bestfriend

        My bestfriend and I, Kaitlyn, were ready for Tiger Talent after school. We got packed at out lockers. Then, we headed toward the Tiger Talent room. When we got in there, I showed her something on my phone. The teacher was talking, and I reached over to her to grab my phone. (The chair is connected to the desk.) Next thing I know, the whole desk came on top of me! I was laughing and Kaitlyn looked like she was gonna die of laughter. Me and her were the only ones laughing. It was so funny.

A Creepy Unknown Creature

       Once upon a time, I was in the middle of nowhere. I was lost and I didn' know what to do. I was in the forest in the backyard behind my house. Then all the sudden, everything went blank. I was frightened. I didn't know where I was. There was no trees, just mountains, and just a little moonlight. I was listening very carefully because I heard something. A big roar was behind me. What was I supposed to do? I felt heat behind me. Then my pants were on fire! There was a puddle near by so I ran as fast as I could to that puddle. That creature was still chasing me! It wasn't just ordinary fire though, it was blue! It had a shell on its back, but how could it be a turtle? Turtles don't breath fire! I didn't know what it was. All I knew is that I needed to run!

7 Doors. Which one will I pick?

       I woke up in a room with 7 doors. Before I woke up, all I remember is getting knocked out, with a hard object. It was just so sudden when it happened. I wasn't expecting that. I feel like I've been sleeping for days. I do not know that date of today, but it feels like I went back in time to 1775. I wasn't for sure though. It was dead silence in a creepy, dark room. The doors went to either Narnia, Neverland, Wonderland, Hogwarts, Camelot, Middle Earth, and Westeros. I'm thinking about picking Wonderland. I also kinda wanted to go to Narnia. The thing is, Narnia is envolved with fighting and violence. Wonderland will be a happy place, with bright colors, I think. There will be a queen or princess, and the king or prince. Hopefully there won't be a lot of violence in Wonderland. The voice yelled and said, "Pick one now, before I pick one for you!" I replied and said, "Why am I here?" "How did I even get here?" "I want to go home with my family!" The voice from above said, "If you ask the king or queen for your family to be there, maybe she'll grant your wish." I said, "But what if she doesn't?" The voice said, "Just pick one or you'll go to a bad place!" I hurried up, and told him that I wanted to go to Wonderland. That door opened. I walked inside, and there was a huge drop. I was so scared! Was I going to die? I didn't know! Then, I dropped on a huge pile of cotton candy. Then, I knew this place would be amazing!

      If I could choose any memory to bottle up and relive it, it would be when I went to Florida with my cousin, Brandi. It was the best year in Florida. We went into the big waves, with them knocking us down under the water. Even though it was really rough, we just laughed. We did the craziest stuff in Florida. Brandi made me give her number to a guy in Florida at Walmart! She was too scared to do it so I did it for her! ( Haha ) I was scared to do it too, even though it was her phone number not mine! We went wave running on the ocean and we saw sharks and dolphins. It was amazing to see them up so close, expecially the colorful fish! When we were on the wave runner, my mom flipped it! It was hilarious! I love that memory. I would definately relive it if I could.

I'm Excited!

Tonight is going to be one of the best nights I will have. I'm in a talent show! I'm so nervous/excited for it! I'm singing a song called "Liar Liar" by Christina Grimmie. I love her music! She's such a good singer. She got famous from YouTube, just like Justin Bieber. I was going to do a different song at first, but I changed it at the last second because I wanted to do this song really bad. It's my favorite song. I will get nervous when I'm on stage...it's a lot of pressure. I am already nervous! My best friend is coming with me. She came every year with me. (: I'm so excited. You can see the difference pretty clear. In 2005 there was nobody taking pictures on iPads, tablets, iPhones, regular cell phones, etc.. In 2013 there was everybody taking pictures with their electronics. This is a big change for everyone because you can take pictures of your friends and family easier. Back then ago, there was not that high quality cameras. They weren't on phones either. There was no such thing as a iPad, iPhone, or iPod back then. Now, there is. It's a good change in the world, I think, because it's good for evidence, like in a crime scene. Also you can take pictures of everything you see. Now you can just pull your cell phone out of your pocket and snap a picture.

This is the end of third quarter. I have just finished technology for the quarter and I've learned a lot. I've learned how to become a better typist, use programs like Microsoft Publisher, and many other things in this class. I liked the projects in technology class because they were very fun to do and you could use different designs on them. One thing that I didn't like in this class was the vocab worksheets. I rarely finished them in class, so a lot of the time it was just homework for me. 

  

Festus Baseball

One of the reasons I can't wait for high school is because that is when boys can start playing school baseball. This excites me because it will be the first time that I can play baseball in something rather than select baseball. When I do get old enough to play Festus baseball, I'll try hard to make the team. Because sometimes I am not good enough to make the team. This will also be a great experience because we will get to face other schools.

8th Grade

I am nervous for 8th grade but excited too. There are many more opportunities in 8th grade, so it will be a different.  Next year we also get to do cooler science experiments like dissecting animals and stuff like that. We also get to go to Six Flags next year for band. Six Flags would be fun because we would have a concert and then we would go on some rides while we were there. In 8th grade there is also harder classes too because all of the upper level kids do Algebra 1.

Hogwarts

I would go to Hogwarts because it is a mysterious place. It would be awesome to be a wizard at Hogwarts too. If I were to end up in Hogwarts, I would stay in the school and learn to be a wizard. Being a wizard would be an amazing feat because of the power I would have. I would meet Harry, Ron, and Heremoine if I were to go there. Who knows, maybe I would fight Voldemort or something like that.

They took everything except one odd thing

The robbers took everything! They came last night and took everything except for that one thing. My mom's diamond ring that she got for her anniversary. It lay right in the middle of the floor. The police saw nothing about it, but I was suspicious. Why take everything in the house even if it's not expensive and leave a diamond ring?

YMCA Basketball

After school basketball ended this year, I signed up for YMCA basketball. I signed up because my dad encouraged me because I didn't get much playing time for school basketball. My team isn't the best, but I like how I get to play 3 quarters of each game. It's not very fun when you don't score any points or your team loses, and it is sort of frustrating because you think in your head that you didn't try hard enough or you should have made this shot etc. I'm playing with a kid who was on the Windsor 7th grade basketball team, so it's not like I'm the only one who played school basketball too.

Who turned the lights out?!

During this years Super Bowl, the power went out and everyone was caught by surprise. The Ravens were winning by about 25 points, and then the power went out. It took them about 30 minutes to get it completely back on. The 49ers came back to the game and scored about 2 or 3 touchdowns while the Ravens were in the dust.The Ravens ended up winning, 33-36, but they were definitely close to losing. It looked like the Ravens would run away with the game by halftime, but it was a lot closer than most people thought it would be.

Through this year and last year, I have gotten a lot better at playing trombone. I am the second-best trombone player; Joel Marler is the only one that's better than me. We have learned some very hard note and rhythms this year, so band isn't as easy as it used to be. I have a very old trombone right now. The company was closed about 20-30 years ago, so it's a very old trombone. The name of the brand is Bundy. That's why I'm excited to get my dad's trombone next year. It's a Bach which is one of the nicest trombone brands there is.

What Memory I Would Unbottle

If I were to unbottle any memory that I wanted, I would unbottle the time where I came in to pitch for the championship game for a baseball tournament. I was coming in at the bottom of the 6th and we were up 1 run and they were hitting. They scored a run that inning, but I shut them out for another 2 innings. Our team ended up losing, but it was some of my best pitching I had ever done. I would want to go back to that memory because it felt good to carry my team through the end of the game.

Starting Baseball

Now that basketball season for me is coming to an end, it's time to start baseball practice. My team's name is the Twin City Titans even though there are people who go from different schools all around the county. We are a 12u team, which means I'm the oldest because I'm almost thirteen. We don't play in a league at all, but we play in tournaments the whole year. A lot of people have joined the team, yet a lot of people have gone.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day vs. Veterans Day

We can all agree that both MLK Day and Veterans Day are both great holidays to honor and celebrate people's achievements. I think that we should get off school both of these holidays. I believe that people can respect them by going to a walk or ceremony. If kids went to school on these holidays, then they would just be taught the same facts about the holiday they learn every year. I believe they should be able to celebrate with their families on both holidays. This would give families the entire day to celebrate with other family members and friends too.

Florida Python Challenge Not Going So Well

The Python Challenge began on January 12th and attracted 800 python hunters looking to catch some big snakes to receive some big money. The event, however, has not gone as planned so far. The 800 hunters have only killed 11 of the 1500 that are predicted to be out there. The python hunters tend to do a lot more walking and looking at the ground than capturing snakes. The hunters are fishing for the $1000 prize for the longest snake and $1500 for the most captured. It doesn't look like there will be much competition for the prize this year.                                                  Article from here

2013 Super Bowl

The 2013 Super Bowl is coming up in about 2 weeks. Right now, there are 4 teams left in the playoffs: the 49ers, Falcons, Patriots, and the Ravens. The games are going to be the Falcons vs. the 49ers and the Ravens vs. the Patriots. If I were to pick two teams to go to the super bowl out of the four teams, it would be the 49ers vs. the Ravens. I wouldn't want to see the Patriots play because they've been to the super bowl too much and I like the 49ers better than the Falcons.

Hi, my name is Caleb Raye. I'm 12 years old and I'm in the 7th grade at the Festus Middle School. I like to play sports, play video games, and eat. I was on the cross country team this year and I am currently on the 7th grade boys basketball team. I am a almost straight A student in school too.

When I grow up, I want to either be an engineer or a mathematician. These jobs both use either math or science, which are two of my favorite subjects. I would also want to be a MLB player or a NBA player, but those require too much that I don't have. My job plans will probably change though since they do change every year. The college that I want to go to most is Duke University.

In recent years, I have had a little experience with computers. If I were to rank myself 1-10, I would probably give myself a 5. Computers can be fun, but also real annoying. One of the things I hate about computers is that they can freeze up a lot. There are a lot more good things about computers though. I like them because you can play games on them and it is also allows you to get easy information. In my opinion, the computer is a very useful tool.

Today, our team, the 7th grade Festus boys basketball team, is playing at home against the Grandview Eagles.We have had a 5 game losing streak and we desperately need a win. But today, I get to start for the first time all season. Grandview is a fairly easy team, so we should have a good chance of beating them.
